Season of Creation Celebrated at St. Pius School

St. Pius School observed the Season of Creation through a series of prayers, creative activities, and a Mass centered on the theme of living waters.

Beginning September 1, students participated in morning assemblies that included five minutes of meditation to reflect on environmental responsibility. On September 21, students used local materials like bamboo, coconut shells, and coconut leaves to craft items such as baskets, hats, purses, and vases to promote traditional Goan skills and resource reuse. The school also held an ecology quiz competition.

The observance concluded with a Mass on September 22. Fr. Heston Ferrao, a priest of the Archdiocese of Goa and Daman and secretary of the Commission for Ecology, served as the main celebrant. During his reflection, Fr. Ferrao encouraged students to treat creation as one family and urged them to care, protect, and respect the earth. The event ended with teachers sharing traditional Goan sweets with students and staff.
