Comboni missionary Brother Eduardo Freitas recently returned to Lisbon after spending ten years serving in northern Uganda. He began his mission in the country in February 2013, shortly after celebrating his perpetual vows.

Freitas served for six years in Matany within the Karamoja region, where he worked as a nurse in a hospital pharmacy because the facility lacked a pharmacist. During his time in Kalongo, he worked at an obstetrics school. His experiences in these multicultural settings led him to develop an interest in psychological and spiritual accompaniment, focusing on authentic human connection and empathy.
