Professor and trainer António Estanqueiro says teachers remain essential for the complete formation of new generations despite the impact of artificial intelligence. Estanqueiro identifies three essential attitudes for the teaching mission: teaching with joy, cultivating hope, and caring for the relationship with students. He notes that teaching with joy is difficult when educators face heavy bureaucratic workloads, student indiscipline, and instances of violence, which cause physical and emotional exhaustion.

The shortage of teachers and these difficult working conditions require concrete measures from policymakers. Estanqueiro suggests that valuing the teaching career is necessary to attract new professionals to the field. He also states that quality education requires active cooperation and mutual respect between families and schools.
