SIENA: IL 4/10 LE CELEBRAZIONI CITTADINE PER LA SOLENNITÀ DI S. FRANCESCO

Siena will hold citywide celebrations for the Solemnity of St. Francis on Sunday, October 4, at the Basilica of San Francesco dell’Ordine dei Frati Conventuali. Cardinal Augusto Paolo Lojudice will celebrate Holy Mass at 19:00. During the service, Siena Mayor Nicoletta Fabio will relight the votive lamp for St. Francis, the patron of Italian municipalities, using oil provided by the Istrice district.

The evening festivities continue at 21:00 with a concert titled Messa dei dodici, featuring a choir and four pianos conducted by Francesco Galli. A novena leading up to the feast day begins on Friday, September 25.
