The Diocese of Porto will hold 24 training meetings across the diocese to prepare for a listening phase of its diocesan synod. Bishop Joaquim Dionísio, the general coordinator of the synod, named the decentralized program "Tuning in to the Synod" to encourage broad and diverse participation from the people of God.

The meetings will follow a uniform format using a guidebook that has already been distributed to participants. According to Bishop Dionísio, the goal of the program is to help people understand that diversity is a gift that supports unity rather than an obstacle to it. He stated that the process requires participants to listen with humility, share generously, and accept that the synodal process will result in change rather than leaving everyone the same.
