Sister Mary Beth Goldsmith

Sister Mary Beth Goldsmith continues her ministry at Excel, a nonprofit organization in Okolona, Mississippi, where she supports local community members through service.

A registered nurse by profession, Sister Mary Beth previously served at Mercy hospitals in Dubuque, Sioux City, and Mason City, Iowa, and at the Stonehill Care Center in Dubuque. After earning a social work degree in 2013, she expanded her work to include serving people experiencing homelessness at shelters in Dubuque and Okolona. Her ministry also included four years of service in Honduras.

Sister Mary Beth entered the Sisters of St. Francis in August 1985 after being inspired by the Dubuque Franciscans during her time at Beckman High School in Dyersville. She was raised on a farm near Earlville, Iowa.
