Community and religious leaders unite in Itaperuna for BR-356 bypass road

Religious and community leaders in Itaperuna marched on Saturday, September 19, to demand that the Departamento Nacional de Infraestrutura de Transportes (DNIT) build a bypass road on the BR-356 highway. The demonstration sought to move heavy truck traffic away from the urban perimeter to improve public safety and reduce accidents.

The inter-religious and non-partisan march included members of various Christian denominations and civil society groups, such as the Lions Club. Catholic Church representatives participated in the event, including Father Luiz Carlos Reis, the parish priest of Paróquia São José do Avahy, Father Luiz Felipe, and members of the Pastoral da Cidadania.
