Solidariedade com os que mais sofrem
The Portuguese Association of Catholic Schools (APEC) is proposing new collaborations with AIS to support persecuted and struggling Christian communities.
Jorge Cotovio, secretary-general of APEC, stated that the mission of AIS aligns with the mission of Catholic schools. As part of this cooperation, Catholic schools participated on October 7 in an international Rosary prayer day for children organized by the AIS Foundation. APEC also intends to participate in Red Week in November, an awareness campaign regarding the persecution of Christians.
APEC recently sent a circular to its members suggesting they join a September campaign launched by the AIS Foundation to support Christian communities in Lebanon. This campaign assists Lebanese Christian families who cannot afford school expenses due to ongoing economic crises and poverty. Cotovio noted that the association seeks to live in communion with Catholic schools worldwide, particularly those facing significant difficulties.
