Spanish life coach subjected to repeated ‘lawfare’ by LGBT lobby

Spanish life coach Elena Lorenzo is awaiting trial after facing new criminal charges for allegedly sending discriminatory messages. This follows a decade of legal challenges from LGBT advocacy groups in Spain.

Lorenzo specializes in personal identity and works with individuals exploring their identity or those experiencing same-sex attraction who wish to live heterosexually. She told ACI Prensa that she does not provide clinical diagnoses because she is not a psychologist or psychiatrist, and that her work is conducted confidentially and by the free will of her clients.

The current legal action follows previous attempts to target her work. In August 2016, the group Arcópoli filed a complaint alleging Lorenzo violated Madrid's regional law against LGBTI-phobia. While several previous administrative proceedings against her were dismissed, she now faces these renewed criminal charges.
