Sr. Francis Bangert, OSF, celebrates 70 years of ever-changing ministry

Sister Francis Bangert, OSF, is marking 70 years of ministry following her entry into the Sisters of St. Francis of the Holy Cross.

Bangert, a native of De Pere, traces her vocation to her time in Catholic elementary and high school. She credited her interest in religious life to her experiences at St. Francis Xavier Catholic School and St. Joseph Academy in Green Bay. She noted that the presence of sisters in her churches and the influence of teachers, including Sister Leora and Sister Herman Joseph, shaped her path. Bangert also recalled a retreat led by Norbertine Father Blaise Peters that solidified her decision to join the community.

After her graduation at St. Francis Xavier Cathedral on September 5, 1955, Bangert arrived at the convent in Bay Settlement to begin her religious life.
