A Sri Lankan court sentenced 15 men to life in prison for their roles in the 2019 Easter bombings. The convictions concluded a five year trial concerning the coordinated attacks that targeted three churches and three hotels, leaving 267 people dead.

The Associated Press reported that the 15 convicted men were each sentenced to at least 200 years in prison, while nine other suspects were acquitted. All suspects involved in the trial were members of Sri Lanka’s Muslim minority. The Islamic State perpetrated the bombings.
