St. Agnes parish celebrates a dream realized with new renovations

St. Agnes parish in Mayerthorpe celebrated the completion and blessing of its new hall, rectory, office, and coffee room during a gathering on Sept. 13. Archbishop Stephen Hero and pastor Fr. Curtis Berube joined the community for Mass to mark the opening of the renovated spaces.

The project began following a bequest from the estate of John Blasko, a longtime parishioner, in August 2018. After years of planning and fundraising, construction began in August 2025. The parish completed the project without debt.

During the construction period, the parish held Masses, meetings, and community activities at the Peter Trynchy Centre, which was provided by Pleasant View Lodge in Mayerthorpe.
