St. Bakhita House Joins Thrive for Life

St. Bakhita House in Milwaukee joined Thrive for Life as its fourth House of Studies and its first location serving women on August 29. The ministry provides a supportive community for women who have survived human trafficking, sexual exploitation, and incarceration.

Auxiliary Bishop Jeffrey R. Haines blessed the Peace and Healing Garden at St. Bakhita House during a celebration that included Mass at St. Martin de Porres. The garden serves as a space for prayer and reflection and features a new statue of St. Josephine Bakhita.

Anne Haines founded the St. Bakhita Catholic Worker House in 2022. The ministry follows the Catholic Worker tradition of Dorothy Day to support women as they rediscover their dignity, identity, and hope.
