St. Helena Church hosts Norristown flower show

St. Helena Church in Blue Bell hosted a free flower show in its gymnasium on Saturday, Sept. 12, in collaboration with the Norristown Garden Club. The event featured various flora, such as magnolias, daisies, and orchids, to showcase the beauty of creation.

Lindy Johnson, the director of parish services, said the church hosted the 113-year-old garden club's show to reach people in the community who do not typically attend the parish. Johnson, who is a member of the local organization EcoPhilly, noted the event serves as an educational opportunity to encourage interest in gardening and environmental care.

Phil Johnson stated the parish intended to open its gymnasium and other facilities to community groups to welcome families and support the Church's mission. He noted that the event aligns with the Catholic Church's role in the stewardship of the Earth.
