ST MICHAEL’S PARISH LANGATA CELEBRATES FAMILY DAY
St. Michael the Archangel Parish in Lang’ata celebrated its annual Family Day with a Mass presided over by Archbishop Philip Anyolo, the Metropolitan Archbishop of Nairobi. During the celebration, 24 candidates received the Sacrament of Confirmation.
Archbishop Anyolo encouraged parishioners to stay united through faith, prayer, and service. He urged the community to practice synodality by ensuring no one is excluded and by participating in the growth of the Church. Addressing social issues such as poverty and political tension, the Archbishop advised the faithful to remain prayerful and to prevent divisive interests from disrupting peace and unity.
The Mass was concelebrated by several priests, including Father John Oscar, the priest in charge, and Father George Mungai, the assistant priest in charge. Established in 1976 by the Guadalupe Fathers, the parish grew from early Masses held under a tree to its current location with support from missionaries, parishioners, and the late Cardinal Maurice Otunga.
