Stabbing at Catholic convent in Poland leaves 1 person dead and 4 wounded

A stabbing at a Catholic convent in Jarosław, southeastern Poland, left one person dead and four others wounded on Thursday morning.

Police received an alert regarding the attack on the abbey grounds at approximately 9:30 a.m. local time from a Ukrainian citizen. The victims included four men and one woman. According to the Polish news agency PAP, one of the men died following the attack. Three of the men sustained serious injuries and were taken to a hospital.

Authorities detained a 31-year-old foreign national at the scene as a suspect. Police are currently investigating the circumstances of the attack and the motive behind it.
