Stasi Hawadi Toubaikebo celebrates four years of faith journey in the spirit of St. Francis of Assisi

The St. Francis of Assisi station community in Hawadi Toubaikebo celebrated its fourth anniversary and the feast of its patron saint on Sunday, 4 October 2026. Members of the community, located in the Timepa Parish in the West Mapia District of Dogiyai Kabupaten, marked the occasion with a Mass, the blessing of traditional bakar batu food, and an announcement regarding construction funds for a station hall.

During the Eucharistic celebration led by Timepa Parish priest Pastor Yeskiel TD, Antonius Tebai and Maria Wakei received the sacrament of marriage. The community also announced a fund of Rp168 juta for the construction of a station hall.

The festivities included the traditional bakar batu ritual, which involves cooking babi, vegetables, tubers, and leaves using heated stones. Pastor Yeskiel blessed the ingredients and firewood to express gratitude and ask for safety during the process. The community integrated this cultural tradition with their Catholic faith to foster brotherhood and celebrate their shared work.
