Students at St. Dominic in Northfield turn snowplow blades into moving art
Middle school students at St. Dominic School in Northfield have painted landscapes and wildlife silhouettes onto snowplow blades. The city of Northfield provided the blades for the students to decorate on the school campus.
Art teacher Tiffany Matlock guided the project. The students painted various scenes, including night skies, sunsets, and animal silhouettes, which will be visible to residents during the winter months.
This project is part of a long-standing partnership between the school and the city. The collaboration dates back to at least 2013, when students participated in a project titled A Moving Museum by painting blades inspired by famous artists. The school is marking this year's project alongside its 100th anniversary.
