The Diocese of Požega observes the anniversary of the dedication of the church in Lukač on Saturday.

According to the diocesan liturgical calendar, the day includes readings from 1 Kor 15, 35-37 and Lk 8, 4-15. The Gospel passage describes Jesus teaching a crowd from a boat and instructing Šimun to cast his nets into deep water after a night of unsuccessful fishing. The text notes that the resulting catch was so large it nearly sank the boats, leading Šimun to acknowledge his sinfulness before Jesus tells him he will henceforth fish for people.
