The Veneto region in Italy has approved medically assisted suicide, making it the 4th region in the country to do so.

Alessio Musio of Cattolica addressed the implications of this decision, stating that there is no right to die and that assisted suicide remains an act of ending a life, even when medical assistance is involved. He noted that death should not be viewed as a response to human suffering.

Musio also addressed the distinctions between assisted suicide, the suspension of medical treatments, and the role of palliative care in managing patient suffering.
