Supporting parents back into study
Compass Catholic Community provides free onsite childminding to help young parents return to education. The Early Years Hub at the Davoren Park school offers childcare for children aged six months to five years while parents complete SACE and VET courses.
Cameron Borlase, a 20-year-old resident of Salisbury, used the center to return to study earlier this year when her son, Eugene, was three months old. Borlase previously struggled to find a clear educational pathway after failing to finish Year 12 and finding university foundation studies difficult to manage alongside personal circumstances. She noted that the center provided a comfortable environment to work toward her SACE and rebuild her confidence while bringing her child to school.
