The parish of St. Nicholas in Żelichów/Cyganek received relics of St. Jan Paweł II on September 17, 2026. Parish priest Paweł Potoczny collected the relics in Krakow from Cardinal Stanisław Dziwisz.

The parish plans to place the relics in the main altar during a ceremony to consecrate the renovated altar on May 8, 2027. The relics of St. Jan Paweł II will rest alongside those of St. Józafat Kuncewicz. This placement coincides with the 675th anniversary of the first mention of the temple in Cygank/Żelichów.
