Teachers gather to deepen faith and mission
More than 600 elementary and high school teachers from the Diocese of Camden met Oct. 19 for a Diocesan Teacher Formation Day at Camden Catholic High School in Cherry Hill.
Dr. Bill Watson, the diocesan superintendent of Catholic schools, opened the event with a reflection on intentional discipleship and led the group in Lectio Divina. Teachers participated in small group discussions regarding how to bring the love of Christ into their lives and classrooms.
Bishop Joseph A. Williams celebrated the concluding Mass. In his homily, Bishop Williams described having faith in a school setting as a friendship with Jesus Christ. Msgr. Andrew Martin, the president emeritus of Camden Catholic, concelebrated the Mass alongside Father Carlo Santa Teresa of Camden Catholic, Father Peter Gallagher of Gloucester Catholic, and Father Philip Ramos, AM, of Paul VI.
