Dr. Christopher West holds reculegerea "Acesta este Trupul Meu" at Mănăstirea Carmelitanilor Desculți din Ciofliceni, Snagov

Dr. Christopher West led the "This is My Body" retreat at the Carmelite Monastery in Ciofliceni, Snagov, from September 11 to 13, 2026. The Magnificat Community and the Theology of the Body Institute from the United States organized the event, which marked West's first visit to Romania.

Approximately 350 participants from across the country attended, including young people, adults, engaged couples, families, priests, and consecrated persons. The program focused on personal transformation and healing through the teachings of Theology of the Body, using the encounter between Jesus and the Samaritan woman at the well as a theme.

Auxiliary Bishop Cornel Damian joined the participants on Saturday and presided over the festive Holy Liturgy on Sunday.
