Diocese of Verona celebrates 800 years since death of Saint Francis

Hundreds of pilgrims from the Diocese of Verona gathered at the Basilica of Saint Francis in Assisi on Friday, September 25, to celebrate the 800th anniversary of the death of Saint Francis.

Bishop Domenico Pompili joined 450 faithful for the diocesan Mass held in honor of the saint, who is the patron of Italy. The group included several people who have participated in previous pilgrimages.
