Police arrested a 16-year-old boy in connection with an investigation into alleged drug trafficking after finding various substances and cash. According to Newsbook, officers stopped the youth after noticing him driving a vehicle, parking, and then attempting to walk away. The teenager tried to flee when approached by police but was apprehended.

A search of the individual and the vehicle uncovered 12 packets of an alleged cannabis substance, a grinder with traces of cannabis, 5 packets of an alleged cocaine substance, and approximately €700 in cash. A subsequent search of the youth's residence led police to find more suspected cocaine, an electronic scale with traces of an illegal substance, and a number of small bags.

The youth is being held in a police lock-up and is scheduled to appear before Magistrate Ann Marie Thake today.
