Al Hussein bin Abdullah II of Jordan visited Al-Maghtas, the site traditionally identified as the location where Jesus was baptized by John the Baptist, on September 13, 2026. The site is located at Bethany beyond the Jordan.

During the visit, Al Hussein bin Abdullah II highlighted preparations for 2030. This year will mark the 2,000th anniversary of the baptism of Jesus for the Church and its followers.
