Pope Leo XIV has asked the faithful to pray the Rosary throughout October to seek an end to wars and the achievement of peace. During a general audience on September 30, 2026, the pope invited people to dedicate their prayers specifically to peace.

On October 1, the pope joined hundreds of children from schools and parishes in Rome at the Lourdes Grotto in the Vatican Gardens to pray the Rosary. This gathering launched the One Million Children Praying the Rosary campaign, which is promoted by Aid to the Church in Need.

The prayer gatherings are scheduled to take place from October 1 to October 7. This week-long period allows parishes, schools, dioceses, families, and communities to select a day that fits their schedule while praying for peace and unity.
