The Catholic Response to a (Synodal) Church in Crisis | Bishop Mutsaerts CIC 2026

Bishop Rob Mutsaerts addressed a gathering of traditional Catholics at CIC 2026 regarding the current crisis within the Church. Speaking to the audience, Mutsaerts noted the divide between those who view the Church as experiencing a period of growth and those who point to statistics as evidence of a crisis.

Mutsaerts cautioned traditional Catholics against the temptation to believe the Faith was perfect prior to 1962. He noted that Church history shows the Church has never experienced a golden age of perfect behavior, citing the failings of the Apostles as evidence that the institution was founded upon flawed men.
