The Convent Kid: A bullfighter and his most loyal fans

Jordi Perez, a 26-year-old bullfighter, was raised by nuns at the San José de la Montaña shelter after his parents were unable to care for him and his siblings. Perez began living with the Mothers of the Forsaken at the age of 12.

While the nuns initially signed Perez up for rugby, he expressed a desire to become a bullfighter. Teacher Juan Carlos Vera noted that the school focused on instilling values in the boy regardless of his professional success. Perez credited his upbringing in the convent with providing him an education and the character needed to make the most of a second chance in life.
