The Pope: The Lord and our mother Mary are always close to us

Pope Leo XIV met with children and their families during an evening gathering organized by the Aid to the Church in Need Foundation. Addressing the group, the Pope spoke about the constant presence of Jesus and Mary in the lives of believers.

The gathering included a prayer of the Holy Rosary to ask for peace for children living in war-torn regions around the world. Participants offered flowers as a sign of love and prepared to light candles to reflect on moments in the life of Jesus when he brought light and peace to others. Cardinal Kurt Koch provided the greeting for the event.
