Thousands of West Africa’s young Catholics meet in Ghana

Thousands of young Catholics from across West Africa are gathering in Accra, Ghana, for the first West African Youth Day. The regional event is organized by the Council of West African Bishops (RECOWA).

The gathering uses the theme of young people acting as agents of peace and hope. Vatican News reports that billboards across Ghana are displaying messages related to the event as participants arrive for the week of meetings.
