Three-Day Gospel Revival Planned at St. Mary/Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church, Mount Vernon
St. Mary/Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church in Mount Vernon will host a three-day Gospel Revival from Wednesday, Oct. 7, through Friday, Oct. 9. The parish organized the event, which begins at 7 p.m. each evening and lasts approximately two hours.
Fr. Elveau Augustine will lead the revival under the theme Fanning the Flame. In an email to The Good Newsroom, Fr. Augustine said the theme addresses the need to strengthen faith, hope, and love to face turbulent times.
Fr. Augustine, who serves as the pastor of the National Shrine of Our Lady of La Salette and St. Mark Parish in Dominica, will also celebrate the annual Caribbean Mass at St. Mary’s at 2:30 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 11. The Mass typically serves parishioners from the English and Creole-speaking Caribbean. Fr. Augustine was assigned his dual roles in Dominica by the Diocese of Roseau in May and has previously led spiritual revivals within the Diocese of Brooklyn.
