The retreat follows the document Dilexi Te issued by Pope Leo XIV on October 9, 2025. This 121-number document builds upon the October 24, 2024, message Dilexit Nos regarding the humanity and divinity of the Sacred Heart of Jesus. The diocese states the document emphasizes God's love and the identity of the Church, noting that the Church is truly the spouse of Christ when it is also a sister to the poor.
