Thursday October 8th: Begging for the Holy Spirit

A reflection published by the Diocese of Port of Spain on October 8, 2026, describes a personal prayer for the Holy Spirit based on the Gospel of Luke 11:5-13.

The author shares experiences of performing nine-hour and nine-day novenas to seek God's presence. The text notes that while God supplies material needs, the author emphasizes that receiving the Holy Spirit is the most important request. The reflection also mentions discussions with friends regarding how God answers prayers immediately, which the group views as miraculous works of the Holy Spirit.
