Lay theologian Consuelo Vélez says God's call remains active and open to everyone. Writing for the Al partir el pan series on the Gospel of Mt 22, 1-14, Vélez uses the parable of the wedding banquet to explain that while the king invites both good and bad guests after the first group refuses, the ability to participate in the Kingdom depends on an individual's acceptance of that invitation.
