Diocese of Massa Carrara–Pontremoli presents 3 projects

The Diocese of Massa Carrara–Pontremoli presented three projects at a press conference in the bishop's seminary refectory in Massa on September 30, 2026. Developed in collaboration with Toscana Innova, the projects aim to implement the teachings of the encyclical *Laudato Si'*.

The first project, titled "Sora nostra matre Terra," involves the constitution of a forestry consortium for the sustainable management of woodland heritage. Giacomo Giannarelli, president of Toscana Innova, explained that the process began in 2024 to address the fragmentation of over 2,000 hectares of ecclesiastical land. This tool allows different subjects to maintain property while entrusting ordinary and extraordinary management to a single subject.

A second project, "Frate sole," involves the birth of a renewable energy community (CER) and was presented by Sara Tonloren. The meeting was led by priest Piero Albanesi, president of the forestry consortium, and attended by Bishop Mario Vaccari.
