Trust in providence, love for Church inspire Cordi-Marian Sisters

The Cordi-Marian Sisters celebrated 100 years of mission in the United States during a jubilee Mass at the Cordi-Marian Chapel on September 12.

Archbishop Gustavo García-Siller, MSpS, noted in his homily that the sisters arrived from Mexico a century ago during the Cristero struggle and a period of religious persecution. He said the founding women left behind security and comfort to establish their charism in the country. The archbishop credited the sisters with building a foundation through prayer, catechesis, service to the poor, and evangelization. He added that their work has shaped various spaces, including schools, chapels, hospitals, and parish halls.
