Tuesday September 22nd: Circles of Belonging

The Diocese of Port of Spain released a reflection on September 22, 2026, describing the parish Church as an extended family of companions that discerns, journeys, and serves together.

The reflection uses the Gospel of Luke to explain that discipleship creates a community rooted in faithful listening and a shared mission. It notes that while discipleship often begins within the family, people may face tension when their vocations, ministries, or convictions are misunderstood by relatives.

The Diocese stated that synodality invites people to walk together and recognize the circles of belonging that God creates. It added that work for justice and peace grows when the community welcomes the excluded, builds bridges across divisions, cares for creation, and upholds dignity.
