Twenty-five years after 9/11, Avoca parish continues holding Blue Mass

Queen of the Apostles Parish in Avoca held its Blue Mass on Sept. 11, 2026, to mark the 25th anniversary of the September 11 terrorist attacks.

The event included a procession through the streets of Avoca toward the parish. Boy Scouts carried colors while first responders marched in full dress uniform under a large American flag suspended between two fire trucks.
