Ugandan Catholic Archbishop Challenges Digital Faith Influencers at Graduation to Pay Attention to Global Challenges

Archbishop John Baptist Odama urged graduates of the Digital Faith Influencers program to use modern technology to promote the Gospel and address global issues. Speaking at a graduation ceremony on Friday, September 25, the Archbishop emeritus of Gulu, Uganda, told 100 youths to use their training to respond to social and economic difficulties.

The Pan African Catholic Theology and Pastoral Network (PACTPAN) designed the seven month certificate course, titled Africa Digital Faith Influencers Formation, to help participants become faith leaders among peers in digital peripheries. Archbishop Odama identified poverty, inequality in social services, and poor infrastructure as major challenges facing the continent. He also noted that graduates should help address politicized faith, religious pluralism, identity tensions, extremism, and social instability.
