Bishop José Antonio Satué interviewed

Bishop José Antonio Satué spoke with various members of the Church in Málaga to mark his first year as the local bishop. Representatives from different walks of life, including a religious sister, a young person, a married couple, and a victim of human trafficking, interviewed the bishop on topics such as family, popular religiosity, and the daily life of a bishop.

During the discussions, Rosario Ortiz, a sister from the Congregation of the Presentation, asked how religious orders can help build a united and evangelical diocese. Bishop Satué responded that the diverse contributions of consecrated life, whether through missionary, educational, social, or contemplative work, are gifts to the diocese. He encouraged religious members to live out their specific charisms with open doors by walking alongside parishes and embracing the local pastoral project.

Joanna, a woman participating in the Vive y Camina program for victims of human trafficking, asked how the Church can raise awareness regarding the dignity of women. She noted that while the Church has made progress through groups like the Adoratrices, who support women facing exploitation or violence, there is still significant work to be done.
