Archdiocese of Montpellier launches new mission: NOUS ACCUEILLIR

The Archdiocese of Montpellier has launched a new diocesan mission called "Nous Accueillir" to support families and individuals dealing with homosexuality or transgender identity. Marie-Hélène Durand, who leads the mission, stated that the project addresses concerns raised by the archbishop and follows the model of more than 50 other dioceses in France.

The mission aims to assist families who find the discovery of a child's or relative's sexual orientation or gender identity difficult. Durand noted that these situations often cause parents to feel fear, guilt, or shame, sometimes leading to isolation and strained relationships with their children. The program also intends to support pastoral workers, including priests, deacons, and catechists, who increasingly encounter these issues within their parishes.
