US Bishops call to overcome evil with good on 25th anniversary of 9/11

United States bishops called on the faithful to pray for the victims and families of the September 11 terrorist attacks on the 25th anniversary of the events. The bishops encouraged people to act as instruments of peace and to overcome evil with good.

The attacks carried out by Al Qaeda resulted in 2,977 deaths in New York and at the Pentagon. Archbishop Ronald Hicks of New York noted the extraordinary courage, service, sacrifice, and compassion shown by those who died.
