UTOR-VACH: Konkani Bible Reading Seminar

The Diocesan Centre for Biblical Apostolate and the Konkani Daiz Trust held a seminar and workshop on reading and proclaiming the Holy Bible in Konkani on September 19, 2026. The event, titled UTOR-VACH, took place at the Holy Spirit School Hall in Margao.

The program focused on the theme of reading and living the Word of God. Speakers including Fr. Manuel Gomes, Fr. Alfred Vaz, Fr. Polly Lobo, and Agnel de Borim provided instruction on Scripture, Konkani Bible translation, and the ministry of proclaiming God's Word. The workshop emphasized the art of proclamation, teaching participants to use correct pronunciation and expression to convey the meaning and spirit of the text with reverence.

Participants practiced reading the Konkani Bible in small groups under the guidance of resource persons. The seminar began with a welcome from Fr. Onasis D’Cruz and a prayer service, and concluded with a vote of thanks from Fr. Myron Barreto, head of the Konkani Daiz Trust.
