Vallási és kulturális értékek összekapcsolása a CET projekt keretében

The Catholic Event Tourism (CET) project held a ceremony on September 12, 2026, to present the renovated Szent Kereszt felmagasztalása – Szent Eleonóra Roman Catholic Church in Tiszavasvári. The project aims to preserve and showcase religious, cultural, and tourism assets in Szabolcs-Szatmár-Bereg and Satu Mare counties while strengthening cross-border cooperation.

Renovations at the church included work on the bell tower and the roof structure of the nave, along with the installation of a new fence and walkway. The CET project is a collaboration between the Diocese of Szatmár, the Diocese of Nyíregyháza, and the Diocese of Debrecen-Nyíregyháza.

During the event, participants explored the updated church and learned about the local religious, cultural, gastronomic, and tourism values of the region. The project seeks to increase local tourism and improve connections across the Hungarian-Romanian border by preserving built and religious heritage.
