Vatican newspaper mourns Michelina Tenace

The Vatican newspaper L'Osservatore Romano published an obituary for Michelina Tenace, a theology professor at the Pontifical Gregorian University and a member of the Centro Aletti art center in Rome.

Tenace served as a consultor to the Dicastery for the Doctrine of the Faith starting in 2018. She was also a member of Centro Aletti from its beginning, an organization formerly directed by Father Marko Rupnik. The art center noted that Tenace was central to the group and helped enrich its community through her personal relationships.

In an obituary, Dario Vitali stated that Tenace had a rare ability to connect teaching with theological research and to bridge the gap between the Christian East and West. He added that she sought to link the Church Fathers with modern issues. Tenace's published works, which include contributions to books on pastoral theology and the new evangelization, are carried by the Centro Aletti publishing house, Lipa.
