Vatican’s top diplomat pushes 2-state solution, ‘limits’ on AI at UN General Assembly

Cardinal Pietro Parolin, the Vatican secretary of state, called for a two-state solution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict and requested limits on the rapid development of artificial intelligence during meetings at the United Nations General Assembly in New York on Sept. 24.

Addressing world leaders and diplomats, Parolin stated that a two-state solution based on secure and internationally recognized borders is the only equitable and viable way to achieve a lasting and just peace. The proposed plan seeks to resolve the conflict by establishing two independent countries: Israel as a homeland for the Jewish people, and Palestine for the Palestinian people, encompassing the Gaza Strip, the West Bank, and East Jerusalem.
