Vatican’s top diplomat pushes 2-state solution, ‘limits’ on AI at UN General Assembly

Cardinal Pietro Parolin, the Vatican secretary of state, advocated for a two-state solution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict and requested restrictions on the rapid development of artificial intelligence during high-level meetings at the United Nations General Assembly in New York on Sept. 24.

Addressing world leaders and diplomats, Parolin stated that a two-state solution based on secure and internationally recognized borders represents the only viable and equitable way to achieve lasting peace. The proposed plan seeks to establish two independent countries, Israel and Palestine, within the former British territory of Mandatory Palestine.

Parolin also called for limits on the fast pace of artificial intelligence development.
