Venue du pape : SOS Calvaires a réalisé la croix du Stade de France

The SOS Calvaires association created the large cross for the pope's meeting with young people at the Stade de France on Friday, September 25. Organizers of the youth vigil requested the association to build the structure to preside over the prayer service.

The cross stands 5 m high with a 2 m crossbeam and was constructed from raw oak using two pieces of wood donated by a resident of the Orne. Two carpenters and an apprentice built the piece, which was planed, treated with turpentine, and fireproofed. A large christogram is engraved on the vertical beam.

A large white crucifix is attached to the cross, donated to the association by a family from Loire Atlantique. Bishop Delmas blessed the cross on Saturday, September 19.
